Evan Mah

Mechanical engineering student at Northeastern. I design, build and debug hardware, and I direct AI coding agents on the firmware and apps, which I spec and test on the device.

Looking for a Summer 2027 internship and a Fall 2027 co-op (July–December) in hardware, motorsports or product engineering. Based in Boston, MA.

The team's final pasta truss bridge in the load-testing machine

Pasta Truss Bridge

Jan – Feb 2026 · 5 students, Cornerstone of Engineering (Project 1)

The brief was a pasta bridge to carry a LEGO astronaut across a model Mars crevasse. Each of us built and load-tested one truss (mine scored 66.9), then we merged the lessons into a team design that scored about 288 load-to-weight (load held ÷ bridge mass), second in the class, but it didn't count because it was too low for the astronaut to cross.

  • CNC routing
  • Composite tooling
  • Design for manufacturing
  • Model aerodynamic molds for body panels and wings in SolidWorks
  • Generate CAM toolpaths in Fusion 360 and debug the G-code for accurate CNC router cuts
  • Machine and assemble multi-piece molds, and prep mold surfaces for carbon-fiber vacuum infusion
  • Routed 5+ carbon-fiber molds for the FSAE car, from digital model to finished mold
